Give this briefing a brief read and then come back for my diatribe, ur, thoughts…
- How big can our collectivist state become? It seems to have a huge mouth if we are trying to get to a single shared curriculum.
- And who is deciding this curriculum? Apparently Houghten Mifflin is involved – which scares me.
- Maybe Rousseau was right; maybe we just need everyone to get out of the kid’s way and let them learn, because they are innocent and will naturally teach themselves unless we come in and mess them up with our local community’s story, morals, appeals to loyalty, etc.
- I could go on, but my diatribe might become longer than the article it is against. Humbug.
